新作のiPhoneは1年に1回9月の半ばごろに発表されるのが常となっていますが、JPモルガンが、「6月5日〜9日に開催されるWWDC 2017にて、iPhone 8が発表される可能性が高い。」と発言しているそうです。
Off the back of Apple’s earnings, JPMorgan has distributed its latest analyst report on the company’s outlook. Amidst the financial predictions, JPMorgan says that there is a ‘high likelihood’ that Apple will announce the iPhone 8 at WWDC in June.

今までのことを考えれば非常に可能性の低そうな発言ではありますが、これまで全くWWDCで新作iPhoneが発表されていないわけではなく、スティーブ・ジョブズがCEOを務めていたiPhone 3G、iPhone 3GS、iPhone 4までは普通にWWDCで発表されていました。
というわけで全く可能性がなさそうとも言い切れないと思うのですが、9to5Macはこのニュースの信憑性は非常に疑問だとしています。
We really doubt that JPMorgan’s report is correct and would expect iPhone hardware announcements in the usual fall period.

今年が他の年と違うのは、iPhoneが登場して10周年目という節目なことです。
この10周年目を盛大なイベントにするべく今年は例年とは違うアクションを取るということはありそうな気が個人的にはするのですがどうでしょうね。iPhoneの名前がiPhone Xとなるという話もありますし。
WWDCに向けてしばらくApple界隈から目が離せませんね。
