その変更といえば、イヤホンジャックの廃止と、ジャック廃止に伴う耐水性の向上だとか・・・。

さらに、「次期iPhoneなしには生きられなくなるような、想像もつかないような機能が付く」とも発言しているようです。
まぁデザインについては何も発言しておらず、あくまで機能が革新的なものになるのかもしれませんが。
とはいえ、iPhone 7に内臓されるであろう、iOS 10をWWDC 2016で発表された内容だけを見る限り、これなしでは生きられないような機能は見当たらなかったですからね・・・。
